Highly recommend this garage!
Super friendly team, helpful and hard working. good price for what you get, communicative, fair and quick service. James and his team literally saved my bacon this summer and noticed something other garages had overlooked...
I brought my van to the branch in Morningside with a rattling and diagnosis other garages that the van needed the whole clutch and dualmass flywheel (DMF) replaced - extremely costly and time consuming. As I had already booked my holidays, I was in a complete pickel, not wanting to drive across Europe with a loose flywheel but not able to afford or wait around for the replacement kit at that time. James and the guys were amazing - and got me immediately booked in to get the van checked over and ordered in the parts incase they were needed. However, James recommended his mechanics take a quick look over things first to see if it was actually the flywheel that was causing the rattling ( as he suspected it could be caused by another of 2 things, and would rather get to the source of the issue and deal with it properly than blindly trust a quick diagnosis, have the kit installed but the van drives away with a rattling still).
After a quick look over the van, the mechanic called me up an hour or so after I'd dropped it off with some amazing news as it turned out the clutch and DMF were all sound and the source of rattling was, as James had suspected due only to a loose heat shield - a much quicker and cheaper fix than Id ever hoped to be possible!
I am so grateful to James for recommending I get the van checked again and not to just go straight in and replace the DMF as it saved me hundreds and meant I could happily bring my van along on holiday with peace of mind!
I've had quite a few bad experiences with garages over the years including being overcharged or given completely inaccurate quotes, treated with sexist behaviour as some mechanics would only talk to my partner even when answering my questions, shabby fixes or missidentified problems and so on. So it was with such joy that I found this garage where I experienced only excellent custom and vehicle service!
Everyone at the garage was very helpful and communicative throughout the whole process, and would happily and clearly explain all the steps in laymen's terms so I could make an informed decision. It's clear that this garage is about real value for money and customer care! My van and I felt so looked after, and this will definitely be my first choice garage to call with any future van issues. 100% recommend them! Thanks again to the team out in Corstorphine!
